| DESCRIPTION: | A one to two-semester capstone course for Bachelor of Arts - Vocal students involving faculty-supervised incorporating private studio teaching and observational field experience. | ||

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | Teaching strategies in the voice studio, administration of private vocal instruction, student assessment, and professional portfolio development. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Provide opportunity for advanced vocal students to teach beginning vocalists. 2. Improve teaching skills in a pracatical situations. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Maintain a successful one or two-semester private voice studio at the discretion of the director of Vocal Studies, complete a professional portfolio, observe and evaluate at least three successful private voice instructors, participate in weekly voice master class, and attend weekly seminar discussions with voice mentor. |

| PREREQUISITES: | Must be a senior Bachelor of Arts: Vocal Music Major. Permission of the instructor is required. Some students may be asked to participate in one or two semesters during their senior year. | ||
