Topics covered include legal procedures, contracts, commercial paper, and business organizations.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Gain a basic understanding of the legal system including courts and procedures.

Recognize legal issues in the news.

Understand the legal environment in which businesses operate.

Understand how the law affects some of busineeses' daily operations: agency and employment, business tors, and intellectual property.

Understand how ethical issues relate to legal issues and learn to analyze ethical dilemmas.

Understand how business organizations are formed and analyze which form is preferred for a particular business plan.

Gain a basic understanding of the legal aspects of financial transactions including secured transactions, negotiable instruments, and bankruptcy.

Understand contract law, sales, and UCC issues that relate to business transactions.
