DESCRIPTION: Airway anatomy, physiology and management to include endotracheal intubation, combitube, LMA, PTL, EOA, EGTA tracheal suctioning, extubation, respiratory diseases and disorders with pharmacological management.
TAUGHT: Winter/Summer
CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Students will: 1) establish and/or maintain a patient airway, oxygenate, and ventilate a patient, 2) integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for the patient with respiratory problems.
REQUIREMENTS: Paramedic majors only.
PREREQUISITES: Concurrent registration in PARA 260. Permission only.
OTHER: 12 week class.
