GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Assessment and management of neonate, pediatric, geriatric, special patients, challenged patients, and abused and assaulted patients. Includes: Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Certification preparation and Critical Care and Acute Interventions in the home care patient.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Students will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impressiona and implement the treatment plan for: 1) neonatal patients, 2) pediatric patients, 3) geriatric patients, 4) patients who have sustained abuse or assault, 5) diverse patients and those who face physical, mental, social and financial challenges, and 6) chronic care patients with acute deterioration.
REQUIREMENTS: Paramedic majors only.
PREREQUISITES: PARA 260.
OTHER: 12 week class.
