DESCRIPTION: Presentation,discussion and testing of all aspects of traumatic injuries involving pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Students will: 1) integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement the treatment plan for: a) trauma patients, b) patients with shock or hemorrhage, c) patients with soft tissue trauma, d) patients with burn injuries, e) trauma patients with suspected head injuries, f) patients with suspected spinal injuries, g) patients with thoracic injuries, h) patients with suspected abdominal trauma, and i) patients with musculoskeletal injuries, 2) integrate principles of kinematics to enhance the patient assessment and predict the likelihood of injuries based on the patient's mechanism of injury.
REQUIREMENTS:
PREREQUISITES: Concurrent registration in PARA 260.
OTHER: 12 week class.
