This course is designed to assist the instructor to explore the concepts, ideas, and principles of teaching training fundamentals. The focus of this course will be to give the student the tools needed to write a prescription of activity to meet the needs of those being trained.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The student will be able to write a prescription for:
1. Endurance Training
a. Speed Endurance
b. Anaerobic endurance
c. Aerobic endurance
2. Strength Training
a. Concept of periodization
b. Strength and power training
c. Endurance training
3. Flexibility
4. Nutrition and weight control
5. Warm-up
6. Muscle soreness
REQUIREMENTS: The student will:
1. Attend class and participate
2. Pass exams and quizes
3. Write an assigned research assignment approved by instructor
4. Write Macro, meso, and micro prescription of activity cycles
5. Pass basic skills' test on strength training
6. Learn through lecture, video, practicum
