GENERAL EDUCATION: This course fulfills a General Education - Basic Skills requirement.

DESCRIPTION: To teach basic strategies and fundamentals of beginning archery.
TAUGHT: Winter, Summer, Fall
CONTENT AND TOPICS: This class is designed to introduce the student to the sport of archery through hands-on application of using the bow and arrow through lecture, demonstration, and practice of archery skills.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The student will:
1. Learn and exhibit knowledge of fundamentals, rules, and strategy of safe archery
2. Develop skill that can be used for a lifetime
3. Learn fundamentals and elementary skills of archery
4. Exhibit knowledge and skill of basic archery
REQUIREMENTS: The student will:
1. Learn through guided and unstructured practice, observation, and explanation
2. Pass skill tests
3. Learn from one-on-one instruction
4. Students must purchase six arrows and a set of finger tabs; approximate cost per student is $30. Meet with instructor the first day of class before purchasing arrows.
