DESCRIPTION: Rules, techniques, problems, and procedures in officiating sports to prevent injuries, procedures in refereeing football, soccer, and volleyball.

CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: The student will:
1. Learn through discussion, readings, and evaluation labs
2. Attend intramural competitions
3. Pass tests
4. Attend class and participate
REQUIREMENTS: 1. Class will meet two days a week in a structured lecture and lab setting
2. Assigned projects
3. Assigned readings and papers
4. 25 lab hours on the field
5. Article reviews on related field research
6. Class assignments
7. Written and practical testing
