| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | * Determine soil texture, structure, and color. * Understand soil chemical properties including measuring soil pH, nitrate level, soil fertility levels, and fertilizers. * Soil mapping as well as other soil characteristics. |

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. Gain hands-on experience to understand the physical, biological, and chemical properties of soil. 2. Apply information from the classroom to laboratory experiments that pertain to agricultural situations. |
