DESCRIPTION: Systematic treatment of methodology in political science, including theory and techniques of quantitative research design.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: Develop of hypothesis, research methodology, including formatting and composition and skill development of quantitative methods.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Understand the basic building blocks of social scientific research: Hypothesis, concepts, and variables.
Identify and explain critical concepts used in writing in the social sciences.
Acquire knowledge and techniques necessary to accomplish sophisticated research in the social sciences.
Learn effective research design and optimum formality for social science research projects.
Learn quantitative methods appropriate for use in political data analysis.
