DESCRIPTION: An applied course covering the nature and managment of stress, with focus on understanding and altering or enhancing student's environment and behaviors as they pertain to stress.
TAUGHT: Fall, Winter, Summer (summers starting 2005)
CONTENT AND TOPICS:
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Know how stress effects the human body and brain.
2. Develop skills at relaxation and biofeedback, assertiveness training, and cognitive reappraisals.
3. Practice skills learned.
4. Know how to participate in stress-reducing activities without prompting.
REQUIREMENTS: Participation in group discussions and exercises, a 5 page self-description/exploration paper.
