GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: For BYU-Idaho travel study students, taught in the term of the travel study with topics selected which will focus on history, scripture and culture of those lands visited. Emphasis is on areas that will enhance other courses taught.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: Old and New Testament; Church History; Christian History and Doctrine; Religious culture and tradition; politics and institutions of lands traveled in.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Understand the context, setting and meaning of scriptural events associated with specific sites and locations.
2. Be a self-directed learner.
REQUIREMENTS: Twenty hours of in class work prior to travel-- with papers, assignments, readings, and lectures arranged by the tour director.
