GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: A performance skills course for actors, singers, and dancers which focuses upon methods for generating complete and honest emotional experiences while performing. Alba Emoting and New School Acting techniques will be taught and integrated. Monologues and scenes will be created and refined utilizing these methods.
TAUGHT: Winter even year
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Alba Emoting; emotional effector patterns; New School Acting: tape technique, emotionology, dictionary/thesaurus of emotions.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Learn the origins of the Alba Emoting system of emotional induction, and master the execution of six specific emotional effector patterns. Learn the emotional techniques of Jeremy Whelan's New School acting methods. Integrate the techniques to prepare and perform dramatic.
REQUIREMENTS: Attendance at every studio session is essential. Four written exams will be given. Daily assignments and mastery of the techniques constitutes one-half of the final grade.
PREREQUISITES: TA 123: Acting 1.
