DESCRIPTION: A companion laboratory course for Chemistry 150.
TAUGHT: Winter
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Experiments selected to teach organic chemistry techniques (such as recrystallization, melting points and chromatography), synthesis of compounds, characterization of functional groups, isolation and reactions of biochemically important groups.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Lay the foundation to comprehend the chemical basis of biochemical processes.

Begin to grasp some of the abstract concepts of organic chemistry and biochemistry.
REQUIREMENTS: Typically there are 10 experiments which require a lab report and a quiz.
PREREQUISITES: Concurrent registration in Chem 150. This lab cannot be taken after the completion of Chem 150.
