| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | Experiments selected to teach organic chemistry techniques (such as recrystallization, melting points and chromatography), synthesis of compounds, characterization of functional groups, isolation and reactions of biochemically important groups. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | Lay the foundation to comprehend the chemical basis of biochemical processes. Begin to grasp some of the abstract concepts of organic chemistry and biochemistry. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Typically there are 10 experiments which require a lab report and a quiz. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Concurrent registration in Chem 150. This lab cannot be taken after the completion of Chem 150. | ||
