GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Become aware of the nature of diseases and their impact on animal health.
2. Identify basic disease prevention programs.
3. Identify the importance of the immune system and immune response to invading antigens.
4. Identify and understand various diseases affecting the livestock industry.
5. Develop writing and research skills to answer specific livestock disease questions.

OTHER: Several out-of-classroom fieldtrips to livestock enterprises will be provided.
