GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Hands-on procedures of animal handling and health practices, primarily using cattle. Techniques such as restraint, injections, calving assistance, dehorning, vaccination, etc.
TAUGHT: Fall, Winter
CONTENT AND TOPICS: *Labs are concurrent with material covered in lecture.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: 1. Practical application of health principles discussed in classroom.
REQUIREMENTS: Concurrent registration with AS 315.
PREREQUISITES:
OTHER: Lab classes will involve live animals, blood, manure, etc. It is suggested that students wear coveralls, waterproof boots, warm clothing when needed.
