|DESCRIPTION:||The fundamentals of drawing and design with an introduction to various media. This class is designed for non-art majors.|

|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||This class is designed to give students experience in drawing. Students learn skills to draw an accurate representation of form and space. Skills include free hand drawing technique, perspective, and rendering value. Students will be exposed to a variety of drawing media. This class is designed for non-majors.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||-- Gain the ability to represent 2-dimenstional space using elements and principles of design.
-- Gain the ability to appreciate drawing media techniques and processes.
-- Gain the ability to think critically about their work and other artworks.
-- Identify placement, position, size and proportions by correct observation and comparison.
-- Organize values into three principle ways of using light and shade.
-- Demonstrate measuring skills by plumb and level and comparative measurements.
-- Demonstrate the illusion of depth by overlapping forms, diminishing sizes, converging lines, and edge treatment and linear perspective.
-- Analyze the elements of design so as to be capable of critiquing own work with mastery.
