| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | -- Identify time periods, geographical centers, and stylistic characteristics of the major art movements. -- Discuss major works of art in terms of their artistic concerns and stylistic characterists, the media used, and principal influences on them. -- Define and use common terms of art history. -- Recognize and discuss the iconography common to the historIcal periods studied. -- Identify significant philosophical movements, religious concepts, and historical figures, events, and places and discuss their relation to works of art. -- Be able to identify works of art according to stylistic characteristics, and attribute unfamiliar works of art to an artist, country, and/or civilization, and a period. |
