GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Intermediate oil painting: still-life, landscape, and an introduction to portraiture.
TAUGHT: Fall, Winter, and Summer
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Basic oil painting techniques are discussed including value, temperature, color mixing, paint application, etc.

Expanded studies in still life, landscapes, and portraiture stressing increased competence in skill, technique, and design. A portion of the class is also devoted to expanding one's awareness of modern artist styles and directions, including stylization, abstraction and interpretation.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: -- Increase skill levels.
-- Increase familiarity with oil painting medium.
-- Increase comprehension of modern artistic styles and movements.
REQUIREMENTS: Enrolled as an Art major.
