GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Introduction to digital photography, including scanning software and printing.
TAUGHT: Winter
CONTENT AND TOPICS: Topics will include: digital camera, flatbed scanning, film scanning, image manipulation using Photoshop, and printing.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: -- Gain a working understanding of basic technical aspects of digital photography including: digital cameras, scanning, and printing.
-- Gain an in-depth understanding of software such as Adobe Photoshop.
-- Produce a quality body of work which demonstrates understanding of digital photography.
REQUIREMENTS: This will be a hands-on class. As lectures are given explaining a technique, the student will have the opportunity to experience the techniques. Grades will be based on attendance and participation, weekly assignments, and a final portfolio.
PREREQUISITES: Art 260
OTHER: Basic materials fee: $60. Expect to spend an additional $20-$40 on supplies.
