GENERAL EDUCATION: This course does not fulfill a General Education requirement.

DESCRIPTION: Exploration of motion as a principle of graphic design, as it relates to film and electronic media.
TAUGHT:
CONTENT AND TOPICS: An introduction to the principles and possibilities of motion in design. Students will explore how motion is used in film and electronic environments. Typography and image in motion will be explored.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: -- Have an overview of graphic design history and contemporary professional practice in motion design.
-- Be introduced to the principles of motion design including issues of ideation, story boarding for presentation, and technical processes.
-- Explore principles and techniques of design in motion such as pacing, transitions, effects, audio sequencing, etc.
-- Have an introduction to videography and cinematography.
-- Be introduced to motion imaging software (Flash, Adobe After Effects).
