| DESCRIPTION: | Principles and theory, diagnosis and repair of clutch mechanisms, manual transmissions and transaxles, transfer cases, drive shafts, and drive axles. Students must also register for an Auto 165L lab. | ||

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | Clutches, manual transmissions and transaxles, transfer cases, drive lines, u-joints, and differentials. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | Obtain a working knowledge of the automobile drive train. Gain as much experience as possible on as many types of projects relating to this topic as available. Give the students hands-on experience similar to that received in the automotive trade. |

| REQUIREMENTS: | Students will be required to attend lectures and demonstrations, participate in class discussions, complete textbook assignments, observe multi-media presentations and memorize automotive parts. Learning assessment will consist of worksheets, tests, classroom presentations and a research paper. | ||
| PREREQUISITES: | Automotive major or consent of the instructor. | ||
| OTHER: | Students are not permitted to work on their own cars in this class. If your car needs repaired, it will be repaired by another student in the class. | ||
