|DESCRIPTION:||An introductory course on alternative fuels and how they are used in today's vehicles. Various alternative fuels will be compared. The theory of operation, system components, and safe handling of these fuels. Flex fuel vehicles theory of operation and components.|

|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||Various fuels, availability, cost, environmental impact, safety. Onboard storage, distribution, components, and operation. Flex fuel vehicle operation. Diagnosis, tune-up, and light repairs.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||Learn about automotive alternate fuel and flexible fuel systems.
Gain hands-on experience.
|REQUIREMENTS:||Students will be required to attend lectures and demonstrations, participate in class discussions, complete textbook assignments, and observe multi-media presentations. Practical hands-on experience is also part of the learning experience. Learning assessment will consist of tests and teacher evaluation of completed jobs. Basic tool set and digital volt-ohm meter.|
|PREREQUISITES:||Automotive major or instructors consent.
Auto 225, Auto 235 and Labs.
