DESCRIPTION: An examination of the structure, function, and classification of insects and selected arthropod taxa.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: Diversity and classification, structure and function, major body systems, metamorphosis, evolution, behavior, medical entomology, and insect control.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To help students to see the amazing diversity of insects and to appreciate the role they play in the world around us. Also, to learn to identify insects and understand a little about how they interact both positively and negaatively with humans.
REQUIREMENTS: Insect collection, exams, papers, and class assignments.
