DESCRIPTION: Plants grown in homes and gardens are used to introduce biological principles. Laboratory work emphasizes individual projects utilizing living plants.

CONTENT AND TOPICS: Chemistry, Cell Theory, Genetic engineering, Evolution, Reproduction, Anatomy, Taxonomy and Systematics.
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To provide students with an introduction to botany and current issues in science and agriculture. Students are challenged to think critically, to design experiment and to develop writing skills in the area of science.
