|DESCRIPTION:||Institutional framework of domestic and foreign securities industries, options and futures, advanced coverage of stock and bond analysis, emphasis on investment decision making with theoretical and practical applications.|
|CONTENT AND TOPICS:||An advanced investments course that covers topics in financial markets, investments, portfolio theory, valuation, hedging, fixed-income securities, structured finance, security analysis, and derivative assets.|
|GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:||Develop and enhance a greater understanding of investment concepts and principles by: a) teaching real-work financial modeling techniques used on Wall Street, b) creating and testing financial models to enhance understanding and develop intuition, and c) discussing investment-related current events.
Discuss problem-solving approaches and further develop problem-solving skills.
Apply investment concepts, principles, and skills by drawing upon principles discussed in economics, statistics, general business, international business, and computer information systems.
Develop transferable skills that can be applied in many areas of business.
Understand and expand investing-related vocabulary.
