The purpose of the Automotive Department is to:
1)    Help students build a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ and encourage them to live these principles in their daily lives.
2)    Prepare students to compete successfully in the automotive workforce or continue their education in a higher degree program.
3)    Enhance students lives by giving them a technically based program in Automotive Technology.
4)    Strengthen the automotive workforce by providing well trained, honest employees who exemplify the high ideals and standards of the church in their chosen professions.

The department mission compliments the university mission statement of building testimonies by teaching students to incorporate these principles in their daily lives. The students are expected to demonstrate honesty, integrity, and Christian values in the classroom and in their association with other students and customers.
