| OBJECTIVES: | Each student will demonstrate: Knowledge of theories used to study families · Knowledge of historical philosophies and events that have influenced public attitudes towards individuals from culturally diverse backgrounds · Knowledge of the current trends and issues in multicultural education, and the implications for families, students, and teachers · Knowledge of the complexities and diversities of the family structure within various cultural groups The ability to identify and discuss current trends and issues related to culture, ethnicity, and race and their impact on the family |
