A survey of Francophone literature. |
| DESCRIPTION: |
A panoramic view of the literature of Francophone nations and cultures. Also, an in-depth study of selected masterpieces. |
| TOPICS: |
Students study literary genres including novel [and corresponding film], novelette, short story, drama and the Holy Scriptures. |
| OBJECTIVES: |
To instill in students the abillity to understand and appreciate artistic expression, thought and world view found in francophone cultural traditions. To give them skills in deep reading, analysis, and discussion of great works. To increase their ease of expression and accuracy in the target language. |
| REQUIREMENTS: |
Attendance, oral participation, small group work, oral and/or written reports. Students completing this course should be able to explain, discuss, and give extensive oral and written responses to the assigned works. A capstone oral exam will be given. |
