| This course is designed to assist secondary teachers in meeting the needs of exceptional students. A wide range of exceptionalities will be addressed on topics such as identification of disabilities and exceptionalities, adaptive teaching strategies, legal issues and collaborative opportunities. Classroom management will also be emphasized. |

| This senior level course is designed to immediately preceed the student teaching semester. Students should take this course in conjunction with their content method's class. The heavy emphasis is placed on teacher adaptations needed to teach students who lack functional reading skills. Students will experience teaching opportunities. |
