| DESCRIPTION: | Introduction to the general principles of disease. Etiology, signs, symptoms, treatment and management of diseases that affect individuals and their various body systems. | ||

| CONTENT AND TOPICS: | The first section deals with the general concepts of how disease affects the total body. The second section considers the various affects of the disease processes on the organs and body systems. | ||
| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | The student will: 1) define the disease process, 2) understand how pathogens cause disease, 3) understand how non-communicable diseases are contracted, and 4) understand the procedures for detecting, diagnosing, and treating disease. | ||
