| DESCRIPTION: | Introduction to agencies, facilities, and programs playing a role in the prevention of disease and the promotion of health in the community. Special emphasis is placed on the competencies needed for community health professionals and health educators to function in a variety of community and teaching settings. | ||

| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | The student will: 1) demonstrate a knowledge of the history of public health, 2) relate the organization of public health within the U.S. and world agencies, 3) recognize and identify the intricacies of the health care delivery system, 4) identify major impact areas on public health in the U.S. and world-wide, 5) identify various health concerns of various health agencies, facilities, and programs in the community, 6) relate how the various health programs can work together. | ||
