| GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: | 1. To examine the cultural legacy of Western civilization in the areas of historical architecture, interior design, furniture, furnishings and decorative arts. 2. To distinguish specific styles of historical architecture, decorative motifs, and interior furniture classics. 3. To provide the student with an understanding of major historical events, geography, and people which affected the development of design styles. 4. To advance writing skills, research capabilities, and enhance professionalism in graphic presentation. 5. To incorporate an opportunity for team approach to three-dimensional design application which produces a visual learning experience. |
