The Office Education Department addresses the needs of students who wish to major in office occupations. A one-year certificate or a two-year Office Education degree is offered. Students may also receive a one-year certificate or a two-year degree with the general requirements to transfer to a four-year college or university.

The one-year certificate (174) prepares the student who wishes to gain a skill quickly for an entry-level position in an office.

The two-year specialized program (175) in Office Education prepares the student for immediate entry as a qualified secretary, data typist, receptionist, medical or legal secretary, etc.

Students seeking a two-year degree in Office Education who are also desirous of fulfilling the General Education will receive both the Associate in Arts and Sciences degree (294) and a two-year certificate (175).

Students planning to transfer to a university may choose the Associate in Arts and Sciences (314). This Degree satisfies all General Education requirements as well as provides the students with employable skills.

The Office Education Department offers service courses for other career programs at Ricks College and provides an opportunity for career exploration for General Studies students with an interest in computers and the use of word processing and desktop publishing. Students who include these courses as electives while pursuing other majors have an added advantage when seeking employment. A background in word processing and business writing is a definite asset to almost every other major.
