Policy
This policy is intended to:
- Preserve the integrity of the mission of BYU-Idaho
- Secure the rights of students and faculty
- Safeguard the moral values and principles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
All solicitations, publicity and Advertising must be conducted in a manner in harmony with the standards and mission of BYU-Idaho.
All solicitations, publicity and Advertising must be approved by a Communication Council representative or by University Communications.
NEW MC MARKETING POLICY
Specific marketing and advertising guidelines have been put in place to govern the use of space in the Manwaring Center such as:
- There are three bulletin boards in the MC for standard-size posters.
- Easels are not approved in the MC. "Day-of-event” stands, used for directional signage will continue to be allowed. To schedule an installed 22” x 28” frame, contact University Communications at Ext. 2000.
- There are nine total booth locations in the MC. To schedule a booth contact Event Management at Ext. 3120
- Any printed communication (fliers or standard/oversized posters) must be on approved identity templates.

COMMERCIAL SOLICITATIONS AND ADVERTISING
The McKay library has specific publicity and advertising guidelines such as:
- All advertisements need to be submitted to the Library Administrative Office, and
- All printed advertisements will be put up and taken down by Library staff.

FACEBOOK PROFILE PICTURE
Name the page: "BYU-Idaho {insert name of organization} (official site)"
Use the Facebook Profile Picture template
In the profile include a link to your webpage on the BYU-Idaho website
A full-time employee in your area is accountable for login information and monitoring all content
Be familiar with official Facebook policy (here)
POSTER GUIDELINES
Style: Any communication or promotional material sponsored by BYU-Idaho must incorporate the official BYU-Idaho identity guidelines (www.byui.edu/identity) and carry the appropriate logo.
Standards: Must be on poster-quality paper.
Size: May be no larger than 14" x 22" and no smaller than 11" x 17."
Quality: No more than two posters per event, per hallway are allowed.
Approved: University Communications
Location: Attached to bulletin boards and/or wall railings by pins or clasps; no tape.
All-employee and all-student e-mails are first sent to Andy Cargal of University Communications. He reviews messages for content and appropriateness before being sent campus-wide. Submit email updates to Andy at newsdesk@byui.edu.
Messages should:
- Be no more than 100 words.
- Contain no graphics or attachments
