Submit the Senior High School Leaving Certificate after 12 years of education from a three-year Senior High School with at least a 2.0 GPA (out of 4.0). There may be situations that permit a student who didn’t graduate from a Senior High School, but did complete a five-year junior college program, to be admissible (see pg. 78 in Republic of China by AACRAO). The last two years are used and student is treated as a transfer student. All grades are in percentages, and most transcripts include a grading scale. If a student is in the five-year program, they must complete that program to qualify. Otherwise, in Taiwan they are still not considered high school graduates and cannot obtain university entrance. Transfer credit is possible from the last two-years of study. Taiwan does have a Subject Competency Test (not sponsored by the MOE), but no other U.S. university uses it based on Embassy’s statement.
