The BYU–Idaho Faculty Jazz Ensemble is comprised of full-time and adjunct faculty members and guest lecturers. Using the title loosely, the group is "directed" by Dr. Mark Watkins.  Musical considerations are such a collaborative effort that his duties are primarily administrative.  Compositions and arrangements come from every member of the ensemble lending to a remarkable synergy that permeates their music.  Concerts by the FJE are truly inspirational with thier democratic communication, spontinaity, and creative improvisation.
