Dr. Eda Ashby received her doctoral and master’s degrees in choral music from the University of Southern California, and came to BYU-Idaho in 1999. She conducts choirs, teaches applied voice and voice-related classes. Prior to joining the BYU-Idaho faculty, she taught for nine years at Utah Valley State College. She graduated in piano from Brigham Young University. In addition to her vocal and piano work, she arranges and composes for choir. She studied arranging with Morton Lauridsen and conducting with Ron Staheli, Rodney Eichenberger, and James Vail. She studied voice with Michael Ballam and attended voice workshops of Richard Miller and Clayne Robison.
