Associate of Science in Nursing: General Information
The Department of Nursing offers a two year program (four consecutive semesters) leading to an Associate of Science in Nursing. The graduate is then eligible to take the registered nurse licensing examination (NCLEX-RN). *
IMPORTANT NOTE: As of Fall 2011, high school Chemistry does NOT meet any Department of Nursing requirement. This applies to all students applying to the nursing program for the first time for Winter 2012 and beyond.
Two Options
1. Traditional Track- For students who have less than 48 credits
- Classes are during the day time, Monday - Friday
- Clinicals are during the day time, Monday - Friday
2. Alternate Track
- For students who have more than 48 credits
- Classes are during the day time, Monday - Friday
- Clinicals are usually completed on weekends
* The ASN program for incoming LPNs is individualized. LPN's should follow the same admission procedures.
