Welcome to the BYU-Idaho Planetarium

The planetarium offers an opportunity to explore our universe through several different shows.  See the stars, planets, and recognize constellations as they appear above you, just as if you were gazing at the night sky.

 The Planetarium is located in the Romney Science Building room 107.

Open Public Shows

  We offer public shows every Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. (excluding holidays, school breaks, and the month of August). Tickets go on sale at 6:30 pm at the door,  first come, first serve.  The Planetarium will comfortably accommodate 40 adults.  Most shows last roughly 30 minutes.  Cost is $2.00 per person. Children under the age of 5 are free with an adult; however many shows may not be appropriate for really young children because of the noise and darkness.

Reservations and Private Shows

   The Planetarium may be scheduled for private shows by school, scout, family, church, and civic groups.  The Planetarium will comfortably hold 40 adults.  You may schedule a show Tuesday through Friday; except Friday nights.  Private showings cost a minimum of $40 (if your group has less than 20 people) or $2.00 per person (if your group is larger).  We strongly encourage you to pay by check.  Otherwise, you must have exact change, we do not have a cash box and cannot make change.  There are only limited times during the day that shows can be scheduled.  Please schedule at least two weeks in advance in case your time needs to be changed.
