Successful Students

This is a list of the students from our society that have applied, interviewed and been accepted into a pharmacy school and some information they have chosen to give us about why they wanted to go there, application process, and what they have done to prepare for pharmacy school.

Anthony Nelson

Has applied, interviewed, and been accepted to many schools.

The schools he has been accepted to are LECOM, Creighton, Hawaii at Hilo, and hopefully ISU.

He liked LECOM that it is a new school which meant upto date and good facilities and that it seemed pretty easy to get into. He suggested to apply to this as a back up school. It is located in Florida and costs about 30,000 a semester.

He loved Creighton and the experience they have going for them. They have been around for over 100 years and are very innovative in their program. He liked the faculty and that got better when he heard students talk about the teachers coming to the student lounges to see if anyone had questions. It is located in Omaha, Nebraska and they charge 14,000 a semester and give you a laptop. the GPA average was 3.4.

Hawaii seemed like a pretty laid back school but was easy to interview for because they came to Las Vegas. They have a new Dean of the Pharmacy school that has reworked their curriculum to focus on body systems and how each drug interacts with that system. They are on the wet side of Hawaii but have a lower average GPA accepted so you can use this as a backup as well. About 17,000 a semester.

He really wants to attend ISU because of the in-state tuition cost which stands at about 7,000 a semester. They have the choice of two campuses, which makes things interesting since some classes are held by webcast and video confrencing. He has worked with alot of alumni from there and respects them all. The professors are there to teach and not really to focus on research but the addmissions are quite competitive. On average 700 students try to get into the 80 positions. ISU is located in Pocatello, Idaho

His tips for interviews is to use Bro. McBride as a prep interview, dress nice and smile, and to google the schools interview questions, then use the questions provided by studentdoctor.net.
